John 15

I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser. Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit. You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you. Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you Abide in Me.  John 15:1-4

“Abide in Me.” Says the Lord. The word abide means: (of a feeling or a memory) continue without fading or being lost.

Being with the Lord is the best possible means a person can live by! I am learning day by day to abide in the Lord! God doesn’t fade away, He doesn’t get lost… He is always there abiding in His people (the Holy Spirit). He never leaves us nor forsakes us, but on a daily basis… we do, we don’t abide in Him! I’m praying for a generation to be a branch of the Vine. One that will stand and proclaim Jesus. A generation that will produce Godly fruit for revival to break out for eternity. A generation whose will is the will of God! Eph. 1:17-19

Abide in the Lord. Live in the Lord. Pray in the Lord. Walk in the Lord. Be in the Lord. Unity in the Lord. -It’s what I think about when I think about the word Abide!

  1. Love it! I’ve never heard or thought about this definition of “abide”. Very deep! In the Portuguese Bible it’s translated as “permanecer” which has a meaning close to “to stay” or “to keep”.
Thanks for bringing this to light!
